“Infantry Born to 
Fight” begins by giving readers a view of the retired Army Ranger’s real life experiences as a child. His escape to the military proved to be his salvation. As his world-weary infantry squad returns home from Iraq, they discover that while they’ve been fighting wars around the globe, drugs, violence and crime is alive and well in the U.S.
The squad discovers that the notorious Tatiana Brazil has taken control of all things dark and dirty in the city of Oakland, CA. When Brazil kills the protagonist’s father and an innocent little girl, it’s the impetus needed for the squad to take action but they quickly discover that traditional methods of cleaning up the city fail.
As Brazil’s stranglehold on the city escalates, the squad’s mission is clear – take down Tatiana Brazil and free the streets. The military characters in the book are based on Givans’ squad from the 1990s and while the antagonist is fictional, it’s a story that’s all too common across the nation. Failure is not an option. They will do what some people are afraid to do, will not do or can’t do.
